STEAM instructors
Young STEAMers is looking for instructors with classroom experience working with young students to join our team. These individuals will be focused on teaching existing STEAM classes to kids ages 4-14 (divided in groups by age). Instructors will be trained in all aspects of teaching the lessons, and all necessary lesson plans, activity materials, worksheets, and PowerPoint slides will be provided.
Responsibilities:
Deliver content to children in a fun and engaging manner while maintaining the STEAM hands-on and creative thinking philosophy
Attending the required training sessions (paid), and becoming comfortable with all aspects of the class material
Performing any necessary outside preparation to ensure that the class runs smoothly
The ideal candidate is a college student ( at least a sophomore) or grad student passionate about teaching science to young kids, have proven teaching experience (no teaching license or credentials are required), and should be comfortable working with the existing curriculum (see classes offered here - youngsteamers.org/programs ).

Requirements

Science background (Students - sophomore and up are welcome to apply)

Ability to pass a background check and LiveScan fingerprinting (TB test if needed) and proof of COVID vaccination

Coding instructors

Young STEAMers is looking for instructors with classroom experience working with students (Junior High and High School) to join our team. These individuals will be focused on teaching Python programming.
Responsibilities:
Deliver content to kids in a fun and engaging manner
Attending the required training sessions (paid), and becoming comfortable with all aspects of the class material
Performing any necessary outside preparation to ensure that the class runs smoothly
A successful candidate should have a proven teaching experience (no teaching license or credentials are required), and should be comfortable working with the existing curriculum.

Social Media & Marketing Intern
The Social Media & Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting in the communications and marketing plan -- focusing specifically on digital communications -- to build awareness within the community, and to increase the donations; and promote Young STEAMers programs, and fundraisers. The Intern is responsible for assisting and executing the company’s social media strategy, working across key social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Using our platforms and creating new ones, the intern will have the opportunity to learn about event promotion, fundraising through social media and much more. It will also give interns the opportunity to gain insights into nonprofit management, the importance of STEAM in children education, and work within communities.
Responsibilities

Managing the social media & marketing strategy; focusing on Young STEAMers website, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram
-
Execution of all social media activities (i.e. tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing social reach and building meaningful connections, etc.);
-
Communicating in a professional, but unique social media "voice"; directly aligned with the Young STEAMers mission and vision
-
Researching & developing social media fundraising initiatives;
-
Developing videos and other messages, promoting Young STEAMers events;
-
Prepare promotional presentations;
-
Help distribute marketing materials and organize marketing events
Requirements
-
High School graduate, current college student, or college graduate who is self-motivated and directed;
-
Able to dedicate about 4 hours/week in the next 4 months
-
Good writing and communication skills;
Experience
-
Understands and can utilize digital media, and web/social media management;
-
Some experience with marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail, and web).
